Softie Poo

Just a quick post and a link to an article that clearly demonstrates why Microsoft will eventually lose all relevance in the PC world. They somehow manage to complicate a simple action to the point that they have to write a blog post about it. However, the solution is quickly and concisely delivered by the very first reader comment under the article. How can they solve this systemic corporate problem? Hire THAT guy!

Rob Parker - Racist or Just Childish?

I detest racism, in any form, from any person. I don't care if you are black, brown, white, or purple; judging others by the color of their skin is reprehensible. The only thing I find as offensive as racism is hypocrisy.

This morning, I had 1st and 10 on ESPN2. Rob Parker, a reporter from the Detroit News is a co-host. He and Skip Bayless were discussing San Diego head coach Norv Turner. Bayless made the argument that Turner does no have enough charisma and aura to motivate the team. Parker responded with the following statement: "Norv Turner has more problems than just his skin."

Say what??? You have got to be kidding me! I almost dropped my coffee cup.

Just imagine what would have happened if any Caucasian announcer had said that Lovie Smith had "more problems than just his skin." That announcer would be fired within hours. And that is exactly what should happen to Rob Parker. Racism, in any form, should not be tolerated from those who work on our public airways. ESPN correctly rid their network of racist blowhard Rush Limbaugh and now they should get rid of Rob Parker. Our society should not tolerate racism and we must begin to realize that whites are not the only racists spreading racial hate across our country.

Note: It was suggested to me that Parker may have been making a childish comment regarding Norv Turner's acne condition, rather than a hateful comment about his race. The tone of the conversation betweens the hosts following the comment did not indicate that that was the case, but I'm all about being fair. So, I've written to Mr. parker asking that he clarify his comments. I'll post his answer and/or the response from ESPN when I get them.

Update: Two months later and I never did get that answer.

Skinny Poo

I'm not sure who that is in this picture. Maybe the stars of the new movie, The Grudge III - When Twigs Attack? The cover of a new video game, Fear II, in which the scary little girl can finally be killed by cakes and cookies? For you literary folks, maybe it's an illustration for The Monkey's Paw Diet or Why You Should Not Bury Your Girlfriend in The Pet Cemetary?

Sadly, this is a picture of the obviously anorexic Olsen Twins. The thought that these famine victims are role models to young girls make me want to puke and binge on more nutritionally useless celebrity poo. There's a rumor going around that these stick figures are actually trying to market a "health and nutrition" show aimed at 4 and 5 year olds. Isn't there some law against the undead giving advice to the living, especially living children?

The Olsen Twits remind me of a recent cover I saw on celeb rag Us Magazine encouraging women to imitate their favorite dietarily challenged celebrity by going anorexic as revenge on men who broke up with them. This is called The Revenge Diet. Yes folks, malnutrition really does effect mental capabilities. I can see the ex-beau now, all broken up because he didn't stick around long enough to see his girl succumb to anemia, bone loss, and eventual premature death. Yeah, that's what I call revenge!
